Terms of use
1Purpose
These terms of use govern the use of the INRO mobile app, hereafter "the App", a clinical reference tool intended exclusively for healthcare professionals.
2Who it is for
The App is intended exclusively for qualified, registered healthcare professionals: doctors, nurses, nurse anaesthetists, theatre nurses, healthcare assistants, ambulance crews, junior doctors and healthcare students under supervision.
By using the App, you certify that you belong to one of these professional categories. Any use by an unqualified person is strictly prohibited.
3Nature of the App
INRO is a digital clinical decision support tool for qualified healthcare professionals. It provides information for guidance only, in line with learned society recommendations and official medical references.
The App is not:
- a medical device within the meaning of European Regulation (EU) 2017/745
- a standalone diagnostic tool
- a substitute for clinical examination of the patient
- a substitute for the protocols of the healthcare establishment
- a substitute for the opinion of a qualified doctor
The App only assists qualified professionals in their decision making. Every therapeutic decision remains the sole responsibility of the healthcare professional.
4Limitation of liability
The user is solely responsible for any therapeutic decision taken on the basis of the information the App provides. The App does not constitute medical advice in the legal sense.
The publisher of the App cannot be held liable for:
- the direct or indirect consequences of using the information provided
- any errors, despite the care taken in verifying the data
- use of the App by unqualified persons
- use of the App outside its intended setting
- any clinical decision taken without independent verification of the information displayed
Every calculated dose must be rechecked by the healthcare professional before administration. If in doubt, always consult a colleague or the official references.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher's total liability in respect of the App is limited to provable direct damages. This limitation applies whatever the nature of the claim (contractual, tortious or otherwise) and even if the publisher was advised of the possibility of such damages.
5Checking doses
The dose calculations presented in the App are provided for guidance only. It is the user's exclusive responsibility to:
- check every calculated dose before any administration
- adapt dosages to the patient's clinical context
- take contraindications, interactions and specific patient factors into account
- follow their own establishment's protocols first
6Pricing
The INRO app is free to download on the App Store and the Google Play Store. A large part of the content can be consulted at no cost.
The App also offers an optional subscription, INRO Premium, which unlocks all medication records, protocols, clinical scores, laboratory reference ranges and courses. The exact price, duration and renewal terms are displayed in the app before any purchase, on the subscription screen.
The subscription is billed through your App Store or Google Play account. It renews automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least twenty-four hours before it expires. Management and cancellation are done from your App Store or Google Play account settings. A restore purchases button is available on the subscription screen.
The publisher reserves the right to change this model in future. Any price change will be communicated to users beforehand.
7Personal data
User content (profile, preferences, notes, handovers, patients, favourites, history, planners) is stored encrypted locally on the device and is neither transmitted to nor accessible by the publisher.
The App only sends anonymous technical data (crash reports, screens reached, usage actions, and for three of them one detail from a closed list: profession, work setting, setup duration band), through two processors: Sentry, hosted in the European Union, 90 day retention, and Google Ireland Limited for Google Analytics for Firebase, 2 month retention. No data is used for advertising. This data cannot identify the user and sending it can be switched off at any time under Settings, Privacy.
See the privacy policy for the full detail.
8Changes to these terms
The publisher reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. Users will be informed of significant changes by a notification in the App. Continuing to use the App after notification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
9Contact
For any question about these terms or about the App, contact us through the feedback form built into the App (Settings > Send feedback) or by e-mail: inroapp@hotmail.com.
